Daytime highs will return to the 20s and low 30s by Wednesday. The arctic air will stay locked in place this weekend, but we should break out of it early next week. The all-time record in Kalispell is 38 degrees below zero, current forecast has the low dropping to 35 below, so it will be within range. Air temperatures Saturday morning will be in the 30s below zero in many areas. Near record cold is expected tonight/early Saturday. Daytime highs will stay in the single digits and teens below zero. Gusts in excess of 40 mph will be common. Parts of Highway 35 could pick up a few inches of snow. ![]() The one area snow could continue is along the southern and southeastern shores of Flathead Lake.
